TSSAS 2024
TSSAS 2024
We'd like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who attended the Traded Services School and Academy Show and for helping us to make the event a success. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces and some new ones, we hope you found it informative and useful.
Our exhibitors, presenters and hosts were pleased to have many meaningful conversations and answer queries face-to-face.
For those of you who didn't attend the event, this was the first Traded Services School and Academy Show, a brand-new event full of opportunities for Schools, Academies, and MATs, across Buckinghamshire. This was full day event where we hosted multiple Summits, Workshops and Schools Forum updates; there were also exhibition stands and 121 networking opportunities.
Summits
During the event, we help 3 Summits: the HR Summit, IT Summit and the Education Summit. These were live open panel discussions with Buckinghamshire Service Leaders and managers to discuss trending topics in schools, give live examples of cases and answer your questions.
Some key topics that were covered in the Summits were:
- Cyber Security
- How Schools Have Welcomed Artificial Intelligence
- Upcoming Curriculum Changes
- Keeping Up with Ofsted Changes
- Advantages of Apprenticeships and how to access Levy Funding
Workshops
Alongside the Summits, we held multiple workshops throughout the day.
We held:
- Property and Health & Safety Session
- Fraud Awareness
- Legal Matters Affecting Schools
- Introducing Business Continuity Management
- Employee Relations Top Tips Workshops
- Payroll Operations Workshops
- Teachers Pay Review Process
- DBS Workshops
- Bucks Adult Learning Information
The workshops were hour-long sessions hosted by our service areas. Although smaller in scale compared to the Summits, these sessions provided schools with valuable one-on-one time with our services. This format allowed for in-depth discussions on various topics and offered practical advice and solutions for participants to implement.
Schools Forum
The Schools Forum was also held as part of the Traded Services School and Academy Show. This was a pre-recorded video which played on a loop all day, allowing schools to come and go as they pleased.
You can watch the recording here if you missed it.
Feedback
Thank you to everyone who completed our feedback form, your feedback is very valuable and will help us to improve our future events. We've received some lovely feedback, here are a few:
"It was very informative and was an opportunity to raise points and seek clarification on issues or concerns that the school may have directly."
"As a new SBM it was extremely useful in giving the background of bucks workings and pointing me in the direction of valuable questions."
"I really enjoyed the street, and catching up with the different departments, and talking to them in an informal setting. Having the forum run all day, meant I was able to work my day around this. The location was great for me."
