Buckinghamshire Traded Services

Finance

At Buckinghamshire Council, we have an experienced team who can support schools in all areas of finance.

This team falls under the Finance Director for Education, as part of our commitment to provide effective support and value for schools, recognising the financial pressures schools are under.

Support Packages

The Finance packages are based on credits, where you have the option to use these in a totally flexible way. We are continuing to offering packages based on a credit system, there is an option of topping these credits up (min. 50) if you accidentally select a package which is less than you required. The more credits you need the better value for money you will get.

Schools can spend their credits on the following:

  • Salary Modeller Tool
  • Telephone finance support
  • Visits to school
  • Training courses and workshops

Purchasing cards

The purchase card scheme is operated by Barclaycard.

The benefits are that the card can be used to purchase low value, high volume, low-risk goods, and services on behalf of the School.  This will drive process efficiencies as the payment is more instant and reduces the amount of paper received.

  • Purchasing cards work in the same way as a personal credit card
  • They are issued to an individual, not a school
  • Can be used for online purchases and telephone bookings
  • Schools use Barclaycard Spend Management to code transactions to their school budget.

If you are applying for a card for the first time please email financeservicedesk@buckinghamshire.gov.uk where someone can assist you with the setup.
