Sensory and Physical Raising Awareness - Sensory and Physical Training

The Sensory and Physical Team is made up of the following:

  • Vision Impairment (VI) Team
  • Hearing Support (HS) Team
  • Multi-sensory impairment (MSI) Team
  • Physical Disabilities (PD) Team

Specialist Teachers within these teams are able to provide free bespoke training to settings/schools as requested throughout the year as part of their support for a child or young person (CYP) with a sensory impairment and/or physical disability. These training sessions can be delivered to the whole school staff or to smaller groups/individuals. Training sessions will provide information about the implications of the sensory impairment and/or physical disability for the CYP and will consider ways to remove barriers and improve access. These training sessions can be arranged with the Specialist Teacher supporting the CYP for which further training is requested.

Additional information about how to support CYP with a sensory impairment or physical disability can be found on SchoolsWeb: Specialist SEND Teachers | SchoolsWeb (buckinghamshire.gov.uk) and within the SEN Toolkit on SchoolsWeb: SEN Support Toolkit | SchoolsWeb (buckscc.gov.uk)
